On a 4:00pm conference call today (March 13, 2020), Governor Ron DeSantis and Commissioner of Education Richard Corcoran directed that all schools in Florida will be closed the weeks of March 16-20 and March 23-27. All extra-curricular activities, including sports, will be suspended. During the closure, we will utilize this opportunity to deep clean all of our schools.
Further direction about this closure will be shared as the Department of Education releases information to the Districts.
Gulf District Schools is working to develop a plan to provide a simple lunch each day during the week of March 23-27 with the intent that parents may pick up in Port St. Joe and Wewahitchka…details will follow.
